5. Get paid
What you’ll do: Nothing — the payout is automatic once your PR merges. Here’s how to confirm it.
What happens on merge
When the maintainer merges your PR, a background worker re-checks everything against live state and releases the USDC:
- Confirms the PR is merged, the issue closed, and you’re the author.
- Confirms the on-chain milestone matches the amount and targets your current wallet.
- Releases the USDC to your wallet — applying a split if the maintainer saved one.
- Comments on the issue to confirm.
Typically this is done within seconds.
If a split was applied
If the maintainer saved @trustless-oss pay <n> before merging, you receive that percentage and the rest returns to them. The bot’s split-saved comment showed the exact amounts ahead of time.
If it doesn’t arrive
The automation retries transient failures on its own, so give it a minute. Then check:
- Your PR is merged (not just closed), and its body has
Closes #<issue>. - You are the PR author (matches the assignee).
- Your wallet still has the USDC trustline and is the one you connected.
If all of that holds and it still hasn’t landed, ask the maintainer to run @trustless-oss retry, or see the payout section of Troubleshooting.
Changed wallets after connecting? The system re-points the milestone to your current wallet before paying, so a wallet switch won’t lose your payout — it just may take an extra moment.
Done when
The bot has confirmed the release and your wallet balance reflects the USDC.
